The Unlimited Path has provided substance abuse treatment, mental health and re-entry services to clients in both community and residential settings in partnership with the Florida Department of Corrections since 1995.
We have grown considerably over the years, broadening our array of services across the State of Florida. Unlimited Path program sites have included Lowell, Jefferson, Walton, Sumter, Avon Park, Hillsborough, Gulf, Marion, Okaloosa, Demilly, Polk, Century, Lake and Baker Correctional Institutions as well as Northwest Florida Reception Center. As the need for non-religious based treatment services developed within the incarcerated population, we were tasked with converting the Century CI program into an alternative treatment program in 1999. To this day, we are the leader in alternative treatment programming with incarcerated offenders for the State of Florida, operating Jefferson Correctional and Northwest Florida Reception Center Annex as alternative treatment sites. Other services include intensive outpatient (IOP) and residential therapeutic community (RTC) programming as well as intervention, aftercare, and prevention services licensed through the Florida Department of Children and Families.
Unlimited Path has taken a leading role in re-entry initiatives. Partnering on a grant at Baker Correctional Institution to provide substance abuse treatment, prevention services and transitional plans to offenders within the last 36 months of their sentence, offenders are linked to a community portal in Duval County, the first of its kind in Florida. As a partner, our clients were extended opportunities in housing, vocational training and jobs, including enrollment in the local Community College. DADS, another partnership grant, aides in family reunification, using PolyCom conferencing equipment to assist children in having a relationship with their fathers while incarcerated.
Given our extensive experience with correctional programs and re-entry initiatives, it is easy to see The Unlimited Path provides the most current evidence-based programming, substance abuse and mental health services available today. Our programming demonstrates our continued commitment to reintegration, helping ex-offenders stay out of the criminal justice system.
"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives" -Henry David Thoreau
